The Somali Medical Journal (SMJ) is a national and international journal that publishes peer reviewed articles, short communications, and relevant letters. The SMJ intends to highlight the various issues in the fields of medicine, public health and epidemiological studies, drug design and delivery, and advances in medical education research.

The Journal invites the highest quality of research from academics, medical and health sciences communities to write short reviews, editorials, and commentaries on the existing and emerging health issues.

The Somali Medical Journal guarantees to give a reliable platform to all medical and health sciences professionals the opportunity to disseminate their research findings.

The SMJ publishes twice a year. The journal’s research articles, opinions, educational materials, news, and qualified views are all freely available online.

The journal requires that all manuscripts be prepared in accordance with the “Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly work in Medical Journals” as published by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). There is no charge to submit to or publish in the journal.
